7 September 2026 – DEAR FAITHFUL – On 17 September it will be twenty years since the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter came to the Netherlands and began the apostolate upon which we may now look back. This is a reason to be grateful to God and to look back upon what has made us what we are today, but also to look forward with full confidence. In any case, we would like to celebrate these twenty years with all the parishioners and friends of the Fraternity on Sunday, 20 September, at St Agnes Church. The bishop will come to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation and to celebrate the solemn Pontifical Liturgy. At the end, the bishop will announce a pleasant surprise. For the person whom it concerns, this will remain a secret for a little while longer.
What has become of twenty years of apostolate? From a religious point of view, we may consider it by the fruits of grace: vocations to the priesthood and the religious life, marriages and conversions, the daily Rosary and the long lines of penitents on Sundays. Things were very different on 17 September 2006. Whatever has been able to develop well during the past twenty years is a fruit of grace. Whatever has not been able to develop well has withered because of our lack of trust in God and through our own pride. Our apostolate has also been able to produce an offshoot in Lobith. I hope that in another twenty years we shall be able to say that our apostolate has brought forth further foundations, and that the Lord, when He comes to the harvest, will find a rich field in the acres which we have been permitted to cultivate. I call upon you to come in great numbers on that day and to join us in thanking God for twenty years of the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter in the Netherlands.
