The Blessed Virgin Mary and the Apostles in the Cenacle

Until Pentecost we pray the Pentecost Novena. It recalls the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Apostles, who after the Ascension persevered with one accord in prayer in the Cenacle, and is regarded as the oldest form of the ecclesiastical novena.

COME, HOLY GHOST, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and kindle in them the fire of Thy love.

Send forth Thy Spirit, and they shall be created;
and Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray. O God, who didst instruct the hearts of Thy faithful by the light of the Holy Ghost, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Our Father. Hail Mary. Glory be to the Father.
