From the pastor

1 April 2026 – BELOVED FAITHFUL – The meaning of Easter lies first of all in the great events of the work of redemption and the salvation which Christ made possible for fallen mankind in His death on the Cross, that through the reception of Holy Baptism we may be reconciled with God in this new life. Because we have lived for a long time in relative prosperity and peace, the immediate recognition that all men need redemption has, for many, receded into the distance. Let us therefore use this Easter to realize anew that we must all partake in the salvation of Christ by living a life given to Him. The unrest in the world and the increasing poverty and uncertainty, also in our own country, continue to remind us that salvation is not in the world, but in Christ.

Work is being carried out around and inside the church this month. The church tower is being repaired so that the dangerous situation concerning the structural stability of the building may for the time being again be safe. In the church, the great organ is being reinstalled after its restoration. All this causes the necessary inconvenience for the daily visits to the parish. I am extremely grateful to all benefactors and I call upon you all to continue to support the church also in the future.

I try to be there for you all as best as I can. After the departure of Father Hagenbeek the workload has doubled for me. Because of the increasing dementia of my mother I am also required more on that account. I hope that you can remain patient with me until, in the summer, we may hopefully welcome a young priest who can help well in the parish.

✠ With my priestly blessing,
Fr. M. Kromann Knudsen, FSSP, Pastor
