Chalice selected as a gift for the

A Gift for the Priestly Jubilee of Father Knudsen
30 May 2026 – On 10 June 2026 it will be twenty years since Father Martin Kromann Knudsen FSSP was ordained to the priesthood. We shall celebrate this priestly jubilee together after the Solemn High Mass on Sunday, 14 June.
Later this year we shall also commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the beginning of the apostolate at St Agnes Church. From the very beginning, Father Knudsen has devoted himself heart and soul to this apostolate. Largely through his efforts, a living and growing community has arisen around the traditional Roman Rite.
For this special occasion, Father Knudsen himself has selected a chalice and paten. The church board wishes to present this chalice and paten to him, on behalf of the parishioners, as a jubilee gift.
In this way we may express our gratitude for his priestly ministry and for all that Father Knudsen has meant to St Agnes Church during the past twenty years.
We warmly invite you to contribute towards this gift.

The Chalice and Paten
The jubilee gift is a silver chalice with paten in the Neo-Gothic style, made in the Netherlands in the nineteenth century, around 1875. The chalice is adorned with enamel decorations and silver figures of saints, including St Louis, St Peter, St Paul, St Nicholas and St Vincent.
On the foot are representations of the Four Evangelists, the pelican as an ancient Christian symbol of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, and the Apocalyptic Lamb. Thus the chalice is not only a precious liturgical vessel, but also a profession of faith in images: everything points to Christ, the Lamb of God, and to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
