15 August – The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
31 July 2026 – BELOVED FAITHFUL, In the midst of summer, the Church celebrates her greatest Marian feast, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Precisely because this feast is so great, for we celebrate that Mary has already received that for which we all still hope, the Church has made it a holy day of obligation for all the faithful. This means that they are obliged to attend Holy Mass on that day. In our church a Solemn High Mass will be celebrated at 11.00 a.m. I hope to welcome you all on this feast day around our heavenly Mother.
New High Altar in Lobith
During the past week a great deal of work has been carried out in Lobith. The new high altar has been installed, depicting the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the history of salvation. What a beautiful event for our community in Lobith, in the month of August, when the glorious Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is celebrated. With the installation of the altar, a project of almost two years has come to an end. It was difficult to obtain an altar that was permitted to be relocated. The altar has been donated to us. Only the costs of €20,000 for the dismantling and reassembly had to be paid by the Fraternity. Let us thank Heaven for this wonderful development in our apostolate.
