5 October 2026 – DEAR FAITHFUL – On Sunday 20 September, we had the privilege of welcoming our bishop on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the FSSP in the Netherlands. It was also a special day for our confirmands, who received the Sacrament of Confirmation from the bishop.
The day brought several other special moments. Three members of our parish received a special papal distinction in recognition of their fundamental contribution to our apostolate. Mr Oostveen and Mr Camozzi received this distinction for their work twenty years ago, which made possible the establishment of the FSSP at St Agnes Church. Our faithful acolyte and church steward Roel Campfens was honoured for his twenty years of daily service to the sacred liturgy.
It was also the first Traditional Latin Mass celebrated by our bishop, and indeed in the solemn form of a full Pontifical Mass with full assistance. We were all deeply impressed by the calm dignity with which the bishop carried out the rite down to its smallest details. We are grateful to him for his generous and faithful pastoral care of us at St Agnes Church.
The month of October, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, gives us a renewed opportunity to pray fervently for her maternal care of our parish and of the FSSP in the Netherlands. Let us pray that we may always remain a living part of the Catholic renewal in the Netherlands, for the glory of God and the salvation of souls.
With my priestly blessing,
Fr M. Kromann Knudsen, FSSP
