From the pastor

3 November 2026 – DEAR FAITHFUL – On 1 November we celebrate All Saints’ Day, followed the next day by the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, All Souls’ Day. In November, we approach the close of the liturgical year and the Sunday of the Last Judgement on 22 November.

All Saints’ Day reminds us of our ultimate destiny: to glorify God for all eternity, to adore His countenance forever, and to find our eternal joy in this adoration. That this ultimate destiny, which leads us from the imperfect world to the perfection of eternity, is not always easy to attain is something we already know in this life as members of the Church Militant.

The penance we have not fulfilled in this life must be expiated in Purgatory. The souls there are members of the Church Suffering. For them we pray and do penance, for them we obtain indulgences and offer Holy Masses, so that, through the application of the merits of Christ and the saints, they may soon join the Church Triumphant in Heaven, the ultimate goal of our existence.

On Sunday 29 November, the new altar in Lobith will be consecrated. We wish to send them a gift from Amsterdam for the new altar: a beautiful neo-Gothic ciborium for the tabernacle. I ask you to contribute towards the cost of €1,400. You may also make your contribution directly by handing in an envelope containing your donation.

Thank you in advance, and may God bless you.
